Perhaps the Philippines capital isn’t at the top of your family travel bucket list, but there are still lots of great kids activities in Manila. We spent a few days in Manila looking for things to do with the kids while we waited for our Thailand visas to be processed. In that time we found […]
What is hair rebonding and why would I need it? Read on to see how I tamed my frizz in Manila.
Getting my camera repaired was another item on our Manila to-do list (after getting Thailand visas). Pretty soon after we arrived in the Philippines I started noticing problems with my beloved camera – a Canon Rebel XT digital SLR with a versatile Sigma 18-250mm zoom lens. Occasionally the autofocus just wouldn’t lock on a subject. The […]
We had a few days in Manila after our Palawan adventure and since our next stop was Thailand our main goal was to get Thailand visas.
Palawan is rugged, pristine, and spectacularly beautiful. Travel can be tougher here than some places, but that’s part of why Palawan remains so alluring. For our efforts over about a month in Palawan we were rewarded with amazing sights, people, and experiences that we’ll always remember. We loved getting aquianted with Palawan’s wonders in Puerto Princesa’s […]

We were really lucky at Telesfora Beach Cottages to be able to use their kayaks to explore the waters around Corong Corong Beach and El Nido. We paddled to several stunning white sand beaches over the course of our stay at Telesfora, each one more beautiful than the last. The paddling itself is also a […]
Halfway through our 3 weeks in El Nido we ran out of money. It turns out you cannot use an ATM to get cash in El Nido so we discovered several work-arounds. We’ll share them with you here in case you find yourself in a similar cash poor situation.
Our El Nido home for the better part of three weeks, Telesfora Beach Cottages on Corong Corong Beach was our favorite accommodations in the Philippines. Telesfora has great location, facilities, and staff, but most of all there’s a warm friendly family atmosphere that made us feel welcome right from the start.
El Nido spoiled us with pristine, white sand, nearly empty beaches at every turn. We’ve never experienced anything like it anywhere in the world and it more than lived up to our lofty expectations. We loved all four of the tours and they are already at the top of our list of our favorite Philippines activities.
